RNY This Week

I had RNY surgery earlier this week.
Home yesterday after 2 nights in the hospital.

I don't have much pain...just soreness.

I'm a little depressed right now:
1. I got on the scale this morning.  It was UP 5 pounds from the morning of surgery.
Is this normal?

2. I have diarrhea.  On the positive side, I suppose the scale should go down tomorrow because I'm being emptied out.  I know some diarrhea was to be expected, but somehow I thought I might be the exception.  Does everyone have diarrhea so soon?

 Just had my pre op testing and education day today... here's what they told us today.  Before you have surgery, they pump 2 liters of fluid via IV before you get into the OR.  Then, you have IV fluid during surgery and afterwards... they said it is very normal to show a "gain" for your hospital stay. 

Thanks...feeling more optimistic today.
Diarrhea stopped (or so it seems).
Walked 30 minutes this morning.
I'll keep trying.
