Feeling a bit down.

Hey everyone I had surgery on March 13th it’s been 4 months now and I’ve lost 48 pounds in total or so I thought. I’m going a bit crazy because I’m trying hard to lose weight and it’s semi working when I weighed myself on Sunday it said I weighed 186 today it said 189 pounds!!!! Why why why why why why why it’s so hard I exercise everyone and literally am counting my calorie intake. Has this happened to anyone?

 I'm not an expert, but have you considered your carb intake?  I know people on here have mentioned that when the carbs get to be too high they stop losing and even start gaining.

Okay, deep breath. It is normal for your body to fluctuate. Stay off the scale if it bothers you! Take your measurements instead or focus on health goals such as being able to run up a flight of stairs, ride a bike, have lower cholesterol, or even just knowing you are adding years to your life.

Seriously, if the scale causes you pain, stay off it.

 It's also possible that you've added muscle or you could be retaining a bit of water.

48 lbs is great for 4 months.  Everyone's journey is different so it is hard to compair yourself to others when they are losing faster?  Are you a lightweight, with around 100lbs to lose?  We tend to lose the same percentage of excess weight, but if you just look at the numbers, we look like we lose much slower.
Are you getting 100g of protein a day?  Are your carbs around 30?  Are you getting your fluids in?
We all vary from day to day.  You may have had more soduim and be retaining water. 
The main thing is to keep on keeping on.  Put the scale away if it is making you crazy.  If you are following your program, you will continue to lose as long as you keep on keeping on.

My weight can fluctuate that much (or more!) over the course of the week and then be back down again by week's end-- all with me sticking to clean eating.  I wouldn't worry at this point.  Weigh yourself again on Sunday and see where you are.  If you are up, it could be water weight from time of the month or exercising, or, as the other poster suggested, it might be time to look at your carb intake.  But for now, patience.  (I know that's easier said that done!)

How many calories are you eating? What kind of exercise are you doing??

I think you are just in a normal stall. Are you taking your measurements?

A gallon of water weighs 8.8 lbs; you've retained some fluids. It'll be gone.

Stay off the scale. It will drive you NUTZ.

Okay, kinda gross question, but have you pooped? If I haven't I weigh more. As soon as I go I drop like 4 lbs!
