Is this what an ulcer feels like????
For the past few days everything I drink and eat feels so uncomfortable, not quite painful but a dull ache... Not sure what is going on. To give you an idea of what I am trying to eat - today I've managed down one 16 oz water (nothing added to it), 1/2 of 1/2 of a banana and 1/2 of a ww waffle, yogurt and tuna which I couldn't finish.
Any thoughts or suggestions?

So sorry you're feeling that! I have the same symptoms but a bit more severe (had an ER episode three weeks ago). Originally, my surgeon thought it was an ulcer but the GI specialist found c-diff. In my case, I think there are actually two things happening - the intestinal infection and something else. They did an upper GI today so hopefully I'll get an answer. At this point, I believe an ulcer is ruled out. They also thought gall bladder (is the pain on your right side?), kidney stone, stricture, leak, or internal hernia. Sheesh kabeesh.
In any case, I would absolutely call your surgeon! Much better to be on the safe side now instead of having to rush to the ER.
Good luck and all the best to you!

This will pass with time. My doctor prescribed something call Sucralfate that was supposed to
help (tried once, didn't help). The only thing that really feels bad now is water, don't know why.
Milk seems to help me.
I think it's the staples they use. Bananas ARE easy to tolerate, but I have to be careful with tuna.
Best of luck, give it some time.

Hi
My ulcer started with a burning pain but honestly the pain was relieved by eating, not made worse. The pain was mostly on my left side but did radiate through to the back. Certain positions amde it feel better at first such as laying on my side in a fetal position or sitting on a recliner with my knees bent and almost brought to my chest. It got to the point where I was doubled over in pain a lot but as the ulcer got worse, nothing helped.
Good luck. I hope they figure out what is going on with you. An ulcer is pretty easy to diagnose by scope and most respond well to medication.

Sounds exactly the way I felt when I had an ulcer. I didnt think anything was wrong and was surprised when I had an egd and they found an ulcer..thought I was still adjusting to my new pouch and eating habits..started on prilosec and havent had any problems since..Just scheduled another egd to confirm that its gone..good luck!!!
