Can't sleep...

 I'm finding I'm having a hard time sleeping post-op. Some days it feels like I don't need any sleep whereas other days I have to nap in order to get by. What's going on? Is it from hormones releasing from my fat? Did anyone have to take sleep aids?

Surgery will do that to you.  Lots of people find that taking a sleep aid on a temporary basis is a good idea.  

My doctors have told me that it's a side effect from anesthesia, but I'm sure the hormone dump doesn't help.  

Fatigue affects almost all new post ops.  Many find relief when they start an exercise routine on a regular basis.  I took sleeping pills many years before my RNY, and I still had sleep issues, getting around 4 hours nightly post op.  I finally resorted to a medically legal method, ok'd by many but not all States.  I use a lozenge form of this herbal medicine, and now I get 6-7 hours sleep almost every day.  I would not have done this several years ago. BUT, after trying many solutions for insomnia, this was my last choice--but it worked.  DAVE
