Nuvaring and rny

I have the nuvaring and I was just curious if I will have to take it out for surgery? My surgery is scheduled for dec 3. Thanks!

You should ask your surgeon.
I had to be off hormonal birth controll 30 days before and 30 days after surgery, and they let me know verbally and in writing well before the cut off. Hormonal birth controll is linked to an increased rosk for blood clots.
I was also on lovenox from surgery day until 5 days after I was home, which I had to self inject 2x per day. It was easy, but not everyone goes home on this.Every surgeon is different.

Yes because of risks of blood clots. Iud was safe for me during surgery

I chose to stop my birth control tablets about a month prior to surgery because of the increased risk of blood clots.  I am not planning on starting back on them until 30 days after surgery.  I chose to do this on my own.  My surgeon didn't require it.
