Funny Story--update your photo ID

I am one year out and down 115# and at my goal weight. In Oct I flew into China. They could not reconcile my passport photo with what look like now. Spent 31/2 hours in interrogation trying to convince them the fat guy on the passport and I were one and the same. The only other id was a pre-surgery drivers license which did not help. They finally decided to let me in.

I had the exact same issue 2 days ago.  I flew into Dubai from Seattle and I already had a suspicious looking pelican case full of laptops for work and my identification was taken at my highest weight.  Yeah, it was not fun :(

Can one get an amended photo for an existing passport? I look so different from the existing photo, too. I will be traveling to Viet Nam and hadn't considered that problem. Hmmmm

Geez.....nobody ever looked twice at mine. I have lost 140 pounds and have traveled out of the country (South Africa, cruises and Ireland) several times and I was told when I asked about it that they are trained to look at eyes, facial structure etc and not to bother getting my photo changed.  

I moved out of state since I lost all the weight and had to get a new drivers license and even then they hardly even looked at my photo (and gave me the same explanation).

I haven't traveled yet, but at the doctors when I went in for my labs, the technician didnt want to take my blood cause he didn't believe it was me. And when I went to buy a car, the guy didnt even want to take my DL cause he kept saying, "No, it's not you! I need YOUR drivers license!" (It didn't help that it says commercial DL on it.) it took me like 15 minutes to convince him it was me. I still don't think he bought it...

Ouch - 3.5 hours? I guess you'll be getting that taken care of !
