Medical Tourism in Mexico? Costa Rica?

I have not been able to get approval from my insurance for bariatric surgery and am looking at medical tourism. On this forum I was recommended Dr. Valencia with the Baja clinic, and he seems viable but I just want to look at ALL the possibilities in Mexico and Costa Rica perhaps? I am not interested in traveling to an Asian country (i know a few people who have had to stay in the hospitals there with mixed results).

There are forums on here for Mexico and other countries. I have read some good reviews of doctors and hospitals in these forums.

I went to Puerta Vallarta, MX 10/2/12 and had my RNY with Dr. Joya.  He has a website and his coordinator, Gerald, responds quickly and was amazing.  Inbox me if you have any questions!

I had my Lapband in Monterrey Mexico through ready4achange.com - I am revising because the Lapband sucks, not my medical tourism experience.  My insurance will pay for the revision. If they had not, I was going back to Mexico to get it fixed.
