4 more days!!!! (a little long)

Hello everyone!  Hope you are all well!

I went in for my final pro-op appointment at Sibley Memorial Hospital on Wednesday 1/2 and all went well (my surgery is scheduled for 1/8). Before I left the Surgeons office the Bariatric Scheduler says - "Just want to let you know that your insurance wouldn't let me submit for approval until January and today is the first day they are back in the office so I submitted your paperwork early this morning. Everything is on track but it is all pending the approval; we are cutting it down to the wire" 

Well my heart sank when I heard they have not received approval from my insurance with only a few days till surgery.

I woke up around 630 this morning and checked my email and THERE IT WAS!  An email from the Dr.s office CONFIRMING INSURANCE APPROVAL!! 

So Now it feels real - this is really going to happen!!!!  I am looking forward to this new chapter in my life.

Wow that's awesome they approved you in one day!  Congratulations!

Get ready, its a wild ride, but so very worth it.  You decided to take back your life and that is such a wonderful gift. 

Only thing I'd bring with you to the hospital is a pillow, chapstick, your cell phone/charger and a few personal toiletries to freshen up (like toothbrush/paste, mouthwash, lotion and baby wipes.  Everything else will just stay in your bag because when you aren't resting/napping, you will be walking.  You can wear the same comfy outfit the day you go into the hospital home.  Only thing I'd recommend is some slip on shoes or sturdy slippers that you can wear outside/home. 

Don't forget your 'before' photo!  You'll need it later to compare and see how far you have come!!!

Thank you for the great advice on what to bring to the hospital, will be getting my bag ready this weekend and this is certainly a big help.

Congratulations!  I wish you a speedy recovery and smooth procedure.  Another item for you bag might be a zip up robe/romper.  I liked having something to cover my hospital gown as I walked the halls.  I just draped the sleeve of my IV arm over my shoulder.
