How long after eating something bad does it take for you not to feel well?

Last night it took a long time for me to start feeling bad-- I'm talking hours-- in fact, 3-4 hours after I ate.

I was just curious as to how long does it normally take for someone else.  This isn't the first time that I felt bad late at night.

If I eat something that does not agree with my pouch, I am usually throwing up within an hour of eating. Usually closer to 30 minutes.

Mine can be immediately or within an hour. I don't think its ever been several hours before it hits. Are you keeping a food journal that might show you what the culprit could be?

Yea, I'm not sure why it took me so long to feel bad last night.

Thanks for your answer!

I don't remember the technical names and details, but that there are two types of dumping.  The first type hits almost immediately.  The other type hits hours later.  Melting Momma had a post about that a long time ago.  Someone might remember and give you more details.

If I'm going to vomit, it's usually within the hour or so.  I remember a Vet on here saying "it takes about twice as long to come back up as it did going down".  And....for me....I've found that to be true.

Hope you're feeling better!

it can take me 5 -5 min after I eat to feel bad. another "bad feeling" happens when the food gets into my intestines and I can't digest it or get reaction to it - then it may take 3-4 hrs. Days like that I may wake up with  a belly ache or headache in a middle of the night or even in the next morning. Maybe you developed allergy to the food or your liver does not like it.

Dumping 3-4 hours is usually reactive hypoglycemia. Maybe from something too high in carbs or sugar alcohol or regular sugar
