Does anyone know if our pouch emits any juices to help break down the food. As in our original stomach?
Some, just not nearly as much, since it's so much smaller.

Very little. That is part of the reason RNYers are instructed to chew their food into mush (so the saliva and teeth assist in breaking down the food since we don't have the normal gastric juices to do it).
