Going crazy.....

Just wanted to vent a little, I had RNY on 2/6/13 everything has gone well so far but now I am on the purée portion of the plan, baby food is gross, I don't think I can each much more soup, and everything I stick in the blender and then attempt to eat frustrates me.  Does anyone know anything that fits into the purée stage that isn't yogurt, cottage cheese, soup, pudding, or jello?  I know it will all be worth it but right now I feel like I am nuts!  Lol

Eeek, don't eat baby food. How about some refried beans? Are you allowed cheese yet? Ricotta cheese with a little spaghetti sauce is good.

Head on over to BariatricFoodie and TheWorldAccordingtoEggface for some recipes.

Yes, I can have cheese, I will try that tomorrow, I think my main issue is the consistency and taste and the blender is just overwhelming for some reason.  Thank you for the idea, I seem to be road blocked and just want to move right into soft foods.

you can try:

1. mashed apple, other fruits (but you eat it probably)

2. mashed green sweet been (but can be gassy)

3. mashed poached egg (very good)

4. boiled pumpkin with a bit of cardamom and salt mushed (taste like chicken ;)

I would make ricotta cheese baked with sauce.  Lived on it!  Once I could add meatballs I cut those up on top.  Yummy!!!!!

Shelly's Baked Ricotta

8 oz of Ricotta Cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan
1 large Egg, beaten
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
salt & pepper to taste
1/2 cup Marinara Sauce
1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella Cheese

Mix ricotta cheese, parmesan, beaten egg, seasonings together and place in a oven proof dish. Pour marinara on top and top with mozzarella cheese. Bake it in the oven @ 450 for about 20-25 minutes (best) or nuke it till hot and bubbly. I usually made it first in the oven and heated the leftovers in the microwave.
