3 weeks out and only 13 pounds lost

I'm 3 weeks post-op and have lost only 13 pounds...i'm taking my protein...all of my vitamins...and drinking my liquids... my mushies have been soup...smashed vegetables...and fish.... tea...water...coffee.    Is it because I had a revision from the gastric sleeve to the RNY and so my weight loss won't be as rapid as before?   Is it the coffee.

Hello,

No it's not your coffee,we tend to forget that gain about 5-10 pds in hospital for surgery due to the IV's fluid,losen 13 pds in 3 wks is good,just relax and take it one day at a time remember you didnt put weight on over night and it wont come off over night.

I've heard revisions do lose slower. Also, you started at a pretty low weight and light weights tend to lose slower. But 13 lbs in three weeks is not bad at all. If you keep losing at that rate you'll be at goal in less than 6 months!

We started at about the same weight and I lost 9 pounds in my first 3 weeks and was still at my original goal of 140 in under 6 months. You are doing great!! My surgeon told me to expect a 2-3 pound a week average. Some weeks were more and some less, but that is exactly what I did average. You just need to follow your plan and you will be fine.

I also had same revison Nov 28, 2012. As of today, I've lost 30 pounds. I average 600-800 calories a day, and burn around 2500  . I was told by my doc that revisions are slower, and I only needed to lose around 80 pounds , so my loss will be smaller. Dont be discouraged. Twice I have had a 3 week stall. Frustrating you bet, but I just keep walking, working out, and eating protein. Good luck to you .
