Ouchy!

As of today, I am 5 days post-op. I am still having significant pain in my lower left abdomen, near where the drain was. It feels more like a pulled muscle. Doesn't hurt when I sit or lie down. But getting in to those positions is a whole different story! When I'm walking it just feels tight. Everything else is normal, with the exception of decreased energy, but I am doing great with my fluid intake. Any advice on how I can help move this area along in healing? Or is it just going to take time? I just hate that I keep having to take the Tylenol with codeine to make it more bearable.

Thanks all, happy Saturday!

Hi Angela.  Yep, it just takes time.  You could try a cold pack or heating pad (you'd have to see which brings relief).  My guess is there is swelling there and perhaps a cold pack would help with the swelling.  But a heating pad also brings relief for many newly post-ops.  Hang in there, it gets better :)
