Meds for Cramps???

I am 2 weeks post op today and have lost a total of 40lbs(including 2 weeks of liquid pre-op diet).

But today I have the cramps from hell! Uuugh! 1st period after surgery and I can only take Tylenol which is very difficult to find at my closest pharmacy(CVS)....

What do you ladies take for menstrual cramps?

I think all pharmacies and grocery stores have Tylenol. Ask an employee if you need help finding it.

That's what I take, although it doesn't help that much. I find a heating pad helps a lot, though.

CVS pharmacy has discontinued selling it and Walgreens is very limited on it, only selling the white coated tablets(yuk).

I ended up buying the generic Walgreens brand, lets see how that goes.

CVS stopped selling Tylenol? And their generic brand? Why?

I just checked their website and it's still listed on there. I wonder if for some reason the one nearest you just doesn't carry it anymore. But that's really weird. Tylenol is usually super easy to find. I've bought it at gas stations before when I was traveling and got a headache.

I found it odd too but it's been awhile since they stopped carrying Tylenol in some pharmacy's here Miami. When I asked the pharmacists they told me all they were carrying are their brands.

I can find it in some grocery stores and Walmart but very rare at CVS and Walgreens.

I totally know how you feel! I had to take the day off today because of my bad cramps! Anyways, I take Tylenol, I take warm baths, I use a heating pads. Then I lay down and just take it easy all day...

My surgeon gave me the green light to take the very occasional ibuprofen for cramps and headaches. I haven't done this yet, and whether you do depends on your views on the potential for getting ulcers. So far, I have found that while acetaminophen pre-op never did a thing for me, post-op the liquid acetaminophen has worked fine. I purchased the liquid acetaminophen at CVS.

If you still can not get any relief from heat and tylenol, you might want to get a muscle relaxer from your PCP.
