My name is Shannon and I live in SE Pennsylvania.  I am new to this forum and expect to learn my pre-op testing and surgery date one day this week.  I am so excited.  This process moved very fast for me and I am so grateful.  My insurance approval went thru in one day!   I am constantly reading everyone's posts.  I have been learning so many things from all of you folks.  It has been so helpful and I am really starting to feel at ease and prepared for post op life.

Welcome and good luck! My surgery was in December and my only regret is not doing it sooner. The recovery is not bad. I went back to work after two weeks... I grew up in SE Pa, Ridley. Where are you from?

Thank you! I live in Philadelphia.  I regret not doing it sooner too, it would have been nice to go into the summer a few pounds lighter.  I just keep telling myself that next summer will be amazing though!

Welcome Shannon. Even though I attended all the pre op things at my doctor's office I found I learned far more on this site than I did in the office. I asked questions about things I read here and go their input. They agreed with some and didn't with others but could never offer me a scientific reason to disagree. I took the knowledge from both the office and this site and found what works for me. I hope you stick around for a long time and continue to learn and ask any questions you may have.

Thank you. Its inspiring that people stick around here years after surgery to continue to answer questions etc.  This site tells me things I don't think  would have ever thought of.  I am itching to hear back from the scheduling staff and get the surgery date.
