shout out to a supportive spouse
When my fiance and I first met we were both overweight. However he was super active in high school with sports so even overweight he was pretty active. Then he went through the police academy and lost alot of weight. The whole time I pretty much stayed the same size and then started to gain a little. Well after being an officer for a few years he gained some weight. When I decided to get my surgery he was very supportive and took such great care of me. So far I have lost 80 pounds in the 4 and a half months since my surgery and I still have a long ways to go but it helps having someone so supportive in my corner. Before I got the surgery we kind of made a deal that he would work really hard on his weight too because we want to live a healthy active life TOGETHER and be healthy for our future children. Well this last month the energy from my weight loss really hit me. UP until then I haven't really been working out just following my surgeons eating plan so he hasn't really been doing anything. Well at the beginning of April I got a definite energy surge. I have been going out with friends. Getting my toes and nails done, tanning, and most importantly going to the gym tons. I feel better about myself and have more energy and I know he can see the change in me. The last two weeks he hasn't had any soda or white breads of any kind AND he has been going to the gym with me! I have been good about keeping in mind that just because my insides have been rerouted doesn't mean that his has and I just try to stay positive and encouraging for him like he has for me. Im excited for us to lose weight together and even with my RNY he will still probably lose all his weight before me that lucky son of a gun. But as long as we both end up healthy and active im happy :) anybody else have a supportive spouse shout out? or a loved one who has lost weight with you
My husband too has been very supportive of me and proud of my weight loss. He is my biggest cheerleader and got up early to go to my 5ks with me. He constantly tells people how much weight I have lost. He is diabetic and has cut out soda and
white bread and his blood sugars have drastically improved. He is wanting to lose more weight and last night walked on my treadmill for a while. It makes it so much more fun to do things together and I look forward to both of us living a healthy happy life togethet!
As soon as I read the title of your post I said "I should have done that!!" My husband is absolutely amazing. Even though he doesn't have any weight to lose since hes in the Army, hes incredibly supportive. He tells me all the time how much a difference he can see in my weight loss so far, even though I cant really tell. As soon as we got back from surgery he completely cleaned out the pantry and started eating clean and healthy with me. When I woke up from surgery he was waiting with flowers and the most beautiful card, it makes me cry every time I read it or think about it. He talks about how excited he is for our new healthy life together, and the many years we have ahead of us. Sometimes I wonder how such a wonderful, handsome, intelligent man ever fell in love with me. But im sure as hell glad he did. I couldn't live without him, and I mean that.
My sweet husband, who has never had a fat day in his life, has been my rock. He has always been there for me and supported me. He exercises with me (sometimes!) and eats what I eat. He is always willing to share meals when we go out. And, when I decided I wanted plastic surgery, he didn't blink an eye the day he wrote that big fat check. I love my sweet husband Bill!
This guy right here:
My hero. He's supported me through every struggle, every "fat day," every fall off of the wagon, and every success. He's never been overweight, so it can be difficult for him to relate to my food issues, but he always listens when I am having a hard time and gives the best advice he can. We've been together for...almost 9 years now, and just got married last June.
He's introverted, but is always up for a good time, a cigar, and a laugh:
My family loves him (but who wouldn't?):
We recently took a trip to go to a video gaming convention in Boston (where we originally met!):
And he's the best bocce teammate ever:
He's my best friend, and genuinely the love of my life. I am so, so grateful that we found each other.

I can't say enough about my husband... he is my biggest cheerleader and always has been. I never understood how he could fall in love with me, but he did and says he thinks that I hung the moon! He is a runner and has never had a weight problem but eats healthy and drags me to exercise with him every chance he can get.... he is so fun and supportive, I wish everyone could have one just like him.... I love you baby !!
My boyfriend and I first met 23 years ago in college. I was thin and so was he (played basketball in college). We the best of friends and did not date until years later, after I had gained weight. I broke up with him in part because of my weight and the fact that I could not believe he really loved me. After I had my RNY and got to goal, I had the courage to find him. We've been back together almost 4 years now. He has loved me thin, fat, thin with floppy skin, and now thin with plastic surgery scars. He is amazing and I could not imagine my life without him.
Here is a picture of us from this past weekend (at my daughter's Girl Scout event).
