Major Disappointment

My revision to RNY was unable to be done. The slipped lapband caused too much damage to my stomach. Very depressed by this news.  Surgeon may attempt again in 6 months.

So sorry.  Hopefully you will be able to get this procedure or a different one in the near future.

I'm sorry to hear that.  Is it possible to revise to a sleeve?

I am so sorry that you were not able to proceed with the surgery, but it is best to do as your surgeon advises.

Mine is also very conservative and only wants the best outcome. Don't let this defeat you, six months is nothing when you are talking about your whole life!

Best wishes for you!

Oh, Pat, I'm sorry. It's true you hate to wait 6 months, but we'll keep our fingers crossed that things will look better to him then. Wow, that really is a disappointment. Our thoughts go with you now.

I am so very sorry to read that.

I don't know if this might put a positive spin on it for you or not, but when i got my revision from band to rny my doctor did say that usually when they have to do both at the same time they have to go below the band- therefore making the pouch a little bigger than in a virgin RNY. So maybe you will end up with a tighter more effective pouch in the end? After waiting the 6 monhs for healing they should be able to do the normal sized pouch. And you will kick butt losing weight.

Again i am very sorry. I can imagine that this is very crushing news at the moment.

Please take care,

Mandy

Did he at least remove the lapband so it can heal??? Continue to take care of yourself as you wait. DO NOT DESPAIR!!
