abdomen pain that just wont quit!!!! warning VERY LONG

lil history on me,lap rny 9/6/2011, gallbladder out that december. was doing sorta good but was having random abdominal pain without any other symptoms since then. been to a gi dr and he told me i was constipated and perscribed me mirilax with no results. went to a different wls surgeon at the same hosp and he said adhesions was more than likely causing the pain. fast forward to this last dec/jan around new years. i would up in my local er with abdominal pain in a different spot that actually felt like my intestines were twisting. he didnt believe me and sent me on my way (asshole dr) went an hour away to my bariatric hosp and the dr there was more than nice and listened to me. he did tests but couldnt find anything. went to a follow up with the surgeons pa(another asshole), she said i was constipated...... anyway i got them to do an exploratory surgery for adhesions and they found my intestines were kinked and begining to die!!!! also had a nasty allergic reaction to dilaudid but thats another story. lol anywhoo...... starting about march i began to have severe pain on my right side(about a 9/10 on the pain scale) it would go away after a few min and i wouldnt think about it. on the 8th of may i would up in the er again up at my bariatric sugeons hospital with very severe abdominal pain. they did xrays,labs, ct scan with contrast. sat in the er in a room that the temp was 57* for 7 hours(!!!) before they told me i was severely full of **** now this whole time ive been on mirilax and sennakot . they sent me home really dehydrated and still in alot of pain with a bowel prep that did SQUAT!!!! the pain eventually went away and i could return to "normal". on the 22nd had a follow up with the surgeon and my mom came with me so she could be momma bear and demand something be done. here is the kicker.... he is having me do triple doses of mirilax, drink 2 bottles of magnesium citrate, and take 30 days worth of erythromyacin 4 times a day. if that doesnt work by the 12th he is sending me to a gi dr, and if that doesnt work i get most of my bowel removed!!!!! im getting another opinion!!!!

this morning the pain is back! nothing has helped it . ive done heat, ice, percocet, fflexeril, and tylenol. i had a "blast" at work. im a cna at a nursing home. i just started my job so there was no missing work. im in so much pain lately and drs wont help!!! im gonna make an appt tomorrow with my pcp who has been somewhat helpful with my issues.

thanks for letting me vent this out. if you have any suggestions im all ears (or eyes) im at my wits end.

(((hugs))) Is it possible your intestines have kinked again? Sorry to be Debbie Downer but if I am reading correctly these symptoms are the same as before.
I understand the Miralax and magnesium for severe constipation, but why the antibiotic? And what was the reasoning to let it ride til the 12th?
Can you self refer to a GI? Sorry for twenty questions.

he said the antibiotic helps the colon start moving again? he thinks i have a paralyzed colon......
he wanted to see me on the 5th but i cant miss work at all and he is only available on wed.
dont know about the self referral, but im pretty sure my pcp would refer me.

How far are you from the Mayo Clinic?  I'd make an appointment with a specialist ASAP.

about 5-6 hrs away. im gonna start closer and if they say the same things that my surgeon did im gonna go to the u of mn. one of my friends goes there and she loves it. i trust her completely with anything wls related.

You may be having a transient blocked bowel. I had a bout this past weekend and nearly went to the ER. Nine doses of miralax in 2 days, massage, reflexology and a little chiropractic later it finally loosened up some so material could start passing. By the way, I was not constipated at all. Those adhesions can cause serious problems. If you are having that much pain you need to be checked out thoroughly. I had this problem before gastric bypass though. My RNY surgeon cleaned up a lot when he did my surgery, it's just that I scar badly.

i took 15 doses in 3 hours....... nothing. im not constipated by book standards. i go everyday and go quite a bit. ive seen 3 different people so far and all they say is constipation. i hate this. i was barely able to work today. thank god i work with some amazingly understanding people!!!
