Shopping.  OMG!  I must stop.  The only thing I can think of is that I am giving my husband the credit card.  Thank God we only have one but still....I've cranked up $3 K on it in a year....including a dog.   Who buys a dog with a credit card?!

Surgery weight:  232 lbs. / Goal: 145 lbs. Height:  5'5"     Fat? Ain't nobody got time for that.

Yes you have to manage this and quickly. I understand completely but trust me it's much easier to get out from under Debt when it's 3K and not 10K or more!!!

So you are not paying it off each month?

Have you considered putting your new addiction to good use? There are all sorts of personal shopping jobs out there, that might help!  After her divorce my SIL, who formerly spent thousands a month, took a big hit financially (rightly so!) and would go buy whatever she wanted and then return a few days later. It helped her and now she hardly shops at all, but it was difficult for her to not shop all the time.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

No.  This is the first time in about 6 years that I've carried a balance to the next month.  I never shopped when I was fat.

Give it to your husband, cut it up.......you have to take the temptation away.  Do you see a therapist?  Have you discussed your actions with your therapis if you have one?

Credit card debt sucks, BTDT.

In 1987 I paid off all my credit card bills and loans and have not been in debt since (other than having a mortgage).   I can't tell you how easy life is when you are solvent - yes, there are still problems, health, kids, husbands, ex husbands, but they are all made manageable by not having any misery over money!

Since 1987 I have got married and divorced (twice) had two kids and still managed to not incur debt - even as a poor single mother, which I have been twice.   It is wholly possible to live within your means, if you are willing to sacrifice a few pleasures (including buying dogs )   '

Now, I know I sound like your mother, or even worse MY MOTHER! but make a plan to pay this off and a vow to yourself to live within means - or you'll be paying for those clothes etc far beyond the time one of us is buying them in Goodwill!!!!

I can identify, Jilly Bean.  Now I can go into any store at all and find something really cool to buy.  I've even bought new living room furniture.  Luckily my hubby is okay with that, but I've got to get things under control.  Still able to pay off the card every month, but still I need to cut back!  I have some clothes in my new sizes that I haven't even worn yet and I'm afraid they'll be too big when I do.

Good luck to all of us on our journeys!

I LOVE online shopping. Amazon, Modcloth, Overstock..., I can look all I want, even put things in my'cart'. Then by the time I'm finished looking, I've usually decided I don't need it. Not quite as fun as the real thing, but it works for me. Guess that means I have an Internet addiction, though. And once I lose the weight I do fear Modcloth will be seeing me hit the checkout button on occasion!
