Silly question probably, but does coffee count toward your daily liquid goal? I always thought that caffeinated beverages did not count toward intake (just assuming you're not drinking decaf). Is this inaccurate? Thanks!

Many people say not to count caffeinated liquids, usually saying they act as a diuretic.  However, several studies in the last few years have shown that caffeine, unless consumed in very large amounts, has only a very mild diuretic effect if any.  I count all the liquids I drink.

Thanks, that is what I meant, acting as a diuretic. I soooo miss my daily iced coffee but I didn't want it to work against me in counting my liquids. Very relieved to hear that advice is a bit outdated!!
