When does it come back?

I am a little over 4 months out, and I still have no hunger.  For those of you further out, when did your hunger come back?

I'm over a year out and I get "hunger pains" so infrequently that I can't even tell you when they started! lol

I am over 3 years out and mine hasn't really returned for the most part.  Once in a while I find myself hungry but not like before when it was that desperate feeling that I must eat NOW!  Most of the time I eat by the clock and if I get busy it isn't unusual for me to miss meals.  Personally I like it as it makes life much easier.  I don't have to stop everything to eat, I can take care of other things and wait until I am not so busy.  My daughter is the opposite, like I used to be.  When she is hungry she must eat immediately or she turns into a real cranky person.  It is a real emergency for her when she gets hungry.

I'm glad to hear it hasn't come back for some.  I have a timer set on my fitbit to remind me to eat at work, or else I would never remember.  Trying to plan meals is kind of a pain, because nothing ever "sounds good" but I would much rather have it this way.  Old treats really have no appeal to me anymore.   There have been many days at work where there were cookies, chips, other junk food sitting around, and I have had none of it.  I don't even miss it.

I will be six years on the 15 of this month and still no hunger. Maybe for me, it will never come back. I do force myself to eat though, because my body needs some food to function.

Wow... here I am just 10 months out and I must say I do have hunger.

However, I have noted the hunger appears when I have a "high" carbohydrate day.  But sometimes I just crave fruits and veggies and eat them like crazy!  And on the occasional day when I have saltine crackers.

If I stick to the proteins and keep the carbs low, I do have to remind myself to eat.

Soooooo.... that is me.

My appetite is back with a vengeance and im only a month post op. I crave foods because of their flavor. I can only eat small amounts and I make choices of what I will eat or not, and in which order based on nutrition. Protein first, then vegetables and little to no sugar.

I started noticing it was time to eat about a year out.  Until then I easily forgot to eat and thought very little about food.  Now I have days that I want to eat and days that I don't think about it.   I'm 19 months post op.

I've started feeling the teensiest bit hungry over the last few weeks (approximately five month out), but it's nowhere near the same kind of feeling I had prior to surgery.  I also find I feel hungriest when I'm not that busy.  So I'm pretty sure at least part of the problem is head hunger as opposed to real hunger.  Luckily, I still get filled up pretty quickly.  I'm eating between 900 and 1,000 calories a day at this point.
