I am almost 3 weeks out from surgery. I have stuck to my diet. I woke this morning had a few sips of water and got horribly nauseated. now I keep trying to throw up and of course nothing is coming up. Anyone else have this happen?

This sounds like to me that you may have gotten a stomach virus.   It's going around where I live.    Get some propel and sip, sip, sip.   PLEASE be very mindful of getting fluids in.    After having WLS it is extremely easy to dehydrate and if that happens you will have to go to ER and get IV fluids.   PLEASE try to rest....get lots of fluids in and take care of yourself.   You will be in my prayers.

Hugs and blessings ~~~ Vivian

Thank you! I will try that. I am still having dry heaves and feel a little faint. If i drank water to fast would that cause nausea?

It might but it wouldn't cause diarrhea.

Ditto, sounds like you have a virus. I hope that you feel better soon.

Lots of 'crud' going around right now. This is a good time to remind yourself that not everything that happens is because of WLS. Remember that you had illness, aches and pains beforehand and to consider that when thinking through solutions. You may want to call your doctor and see if you can get any anti-nausea medicine so that you can remain hydrated if you do start throwing up what you are taking in OR if your diarrhea is present for more than 24 hours.

Please consult your surgeon & nutritionist for how to do it their way.  Biggest regret? Not doing this 10 years ago! Every day is better than the day before...and it was a pretty great day!

Thank you all for the replies. I have had to take anti nausea meds twice, that had defiantly helped. Been drinking water all day. No one else in the house is sick yet! Thanks again!
