What should my target weight/bmi/body fat goal be?

I am 62 inches tall, midforties. I have small wrists but huge ribs.  I had a higher than normal percentage of fat even when I was skinny according to my doctor then(33 percent possibly but I can't remember).

I was wondering the same thing this morning? I don't know what my ideal weight should actually be, bit hard to set a goal weight. I await answers to your post in anticipation!

I am in my fifties ( closer to sixty) and my doctor did not give me a weight goal however, he told me he would like my BMI to be 25 for my health. It is 29 now so I am getting closer

I assume you're female.  According to my doctor's ideal body weight chart, you should weigh 99-121 pounds.  That is of course before factoring in any individual factors.

My Surgeon has set mine at 70% excess body fat loss, which is 201.5 pounds.  I say 170 to 180 pounds.  The Surgeon thinks that is unrealistic for me.  I'm 5'10.5.  I'll make his goal first and decide where I need to be after that.

I wanted a normal bmi for my height, I am 5'5 and 138 was my goal, I am currently around 128 and a bmi of 22 something.

As you get closer to a "normal" bin you will be able to judge for yourself where you feel best. Docs tend to go by percentages and projections based on how much you have to lose and how much you have lost at each appointment. They have no magic wand that tells them how much or showing it will take to lose. I personally hope to get into the normal bmi range which is about 135 but my body may have other ideas!
