New here
I am new here. I just started the path to surgery (pretty sure it will be RNY) and I hope to learn a lot here. It's kinda scary but something I need to do.
The surgery office here has two surgeons but unless you want a band they just assign you to a surgeon. Is that typical? I sorta thought I could pick which one.

Welcome, Missy! You'll find a lot of good information and support here.
As far as your surgery office assigning you a surgeon, I'm not sure just how common that is. There are two surgeons in my doctor's office, but I was able to pick which one I wanted. I would say once you are assigned a surgeon, go ahead and research him/her and meet. That way you can decide if you'd rather go with someone else and possibly change offices completely.
Good luck!

Welcome Missy, and congratulations on beginning your journey toward WLS.
Welcome! There is a lot of information here, especially if you use the Search function (the small magnifying glass in the top banner), but feel free to ask questions if you have them.
Some surgery offices allow you to choose your surgeon and others don't, but if you really have a preference for some reason, I would just let the surgical office know that you were hoping to work with Dr. X and see what they say.
