Three days post OP

I am three days post (short/25) gastric bypass. I am really struggling. Would it be awful of me to have a scrambled egg or mashed potatoes? I just don't want sugar free jello, Popsicle broth or diluted apple juice. Please tell me that having a scrambled egg will not be that bad!

Don't do it.  Follow your drs. orders.  Sip sip sip.  have a protein shake.  Walk walk walk.  If someone tells you having a scramble egg will not be that bad, what will you ask about next, a bit of pizza, two french fries.

You are only 3 days post op.  You need to let your stomach heal.  Please, please follow your drs instructions.  In the end it will all be worth it.  Don't give into a craving.  That is what got us here in the first place.

You can do this.  You got this.  Just a few more days and you will be able to handle a scrambled egg.  This is now psychological.  Fight the urge, you can do this.

You've got this!

Thanks so much for your encouragement,! I am doing a great job of walking and sipping on ice chips, watered down Apple juice and sugar free jello and Popsicles but it all taste awful ( no matter what flavor I try). I am trying not to get depressed but I feel like I need something more. I will do my best to wait until Monday when my doctor is back in the office. Thanks again for talking me down off a ledge!

What about chicken/beef broth?   Egg drop soup (strained) etc ...  There are savoury options

I had to do liquids for 14 days - that scrambled egg was the best thing ever - worth waiting for!

Beef broth was the absolute worse. In the hospital the chicken broth was great, now that I am home it all taste awful. I do think that I will try the strained egg drop soup! Thanks for the suggestion. I just need to muster up the will power to get through this liquid phase!

I think it would be better to ask your surgeon if it would be OK to have a scrambled egg.

Are you on clear liquids right now?  Are you doing clear protein drinks?

I agree that asking my doctor is the best course to proceed. Since it is Friday the office is closed until Monday. I am on a liquid diet (sugar free jello and Popsicles, broth, watered down Apple juice and tea) I can have a protein shake as long as I get 50 oz of the above liquids down first. I have no idea why I am obsessed over eggs and mashed potatoes. Thanks for the advice!

Why do you need to get 50 oz of other liquids down before having a protein shake?  A protein shake is liquid too, of course.

That was my surgeon plan. 50 ounces of clear liquids before any protein shake. For the first week post OP one of his primary concerns is hydration.
