I've got my protein shakes and frozen veggies ready....and I'm psyching myself up for a very challenging two weeks.  I can't believe I'm really going to do this (the surgery I mean!).

Anyone else scheduled for a mid-Dec surgery want to be pre-op  diet buddies????

Be thankful you get those vegetables lol I'm on day 12 of opti, I have to do 3 weeks and I have been living off vanilla opti, and sugar free jello! We can have broth but since the first day i cant tolerate it, just the smell makes me want to throw up.

Lol...I did the shake/veggie pre-op diet first time around before my lapband in 2008....and vividly remember being grateful for those veggies!   When is your surgery scheduled for?

Hey there! My surgery is scheduled for 12/15 too!!! Starting my pre-op diet tomorrow too. Believe it or not, I'm ready! Probably will be eating my words after the first day tho. Lol I remember it being tough when I had the lapband.

BTW...I sent you a message in your inbox about being "buddies".

Coming down the home stretch on my pre op diet. Unfortunately because I have an over 50 BMI my pre op diet started almost a month prior to my surgery. Fortunately, I love love love the Premier protien vanilla and chocolate shakes, and also like the 100 Cal sugar free muscle milk. I am allowed 6 oz dense lean protein, 1/2 cup of green veggies except peas, and all the salad I can eat, with low cal salad dressing. That salad dressing does not appeal to me.

This last few days have been the worst, with fresh baked cookies for both thanksgiving and yesterday when the grandkids came. A dozen small ones did me in. And a small amount of stuffing on thanksgiving. I am really sorry because I am having my surgery this Wed, so I screwed up at the end rather than the beginning. I was only hungry for the special things. We always have cookies ice cream and candy in because my DH had a debilitating illness this pasy year and is trying desperately to gain weight.

I grew up in lynbrook...live in NJ now.  When I was looking for my lapband surgeon, I met with my friends surgeon in Hewlett.  I ended up going with a dr out of NYU.  I'm getting revised by a diff dr, but also in NYC.

I'm scheduled for Roux en Y surgery on Dec. 17th and my doc told me I don't need to do a pre-op diet, he likes the size of my liver. I was surprised because everyone I've talked to has had to do a 2 week or at least 10 day all liquid diet prior to surgery.
