RNY revision to Sleeve
LOL that's why I'm asking. The insurance coordinator at the surgeons office told me that is a procedure that the Dr. preforms. I've never heard of it before. My new insurance isn't effective till February 1 so I'm trying to get some feedback because to me the DS may work better for me.
Yes and yes. But...revision from RNY to DS is VERY VERY difficult and complicated procedure. Only a handful of docs can do it properly.. Please if you decide to do it - choose a doc that is one of the best , even if you have to travel for that.

Thank You so much for responding I live in Michigan and that was a concern. I wondered if I had surgery far from home who do I follow up with? I never got to goal and that saddens me. I'm going to keep looking for a revision surgeon that is well versed but I'd also like to speak to someone that has been there before.
post on DS forum... you get real info there... and trust veterans if they tell you that doc you choose - is not good - he probably is not good and caused a lot of problem for some people...

It's technically possible but extremely - extremely - uncommon. My mother is also an RNY patient and has struggled with unimaginably severe reactive hypoglycemia. When I discussed her issue with him (I was concerned about any hereditary component) he said he had one patient who was in a similar situation and he revised them to a sleeve. One patient out of over 6,000 surgeries that he's done.
