Getting cleared for exercise

I know a lot depends on how you're feeling/healing, however about how soon out were you all cleared to exercise? I was obviously cleared to walk right away, however I'm really missing my elliptical! I know I probably won't be able to lift weights for a while, but hoping my surgeon clears me for other cardio at my one month follow-up next week. 

I was cleared for water aerobics as soon as my incisions healed. Strength and weight bearing exercise came after my 6 week check up
