I have made my decision, now I am waiting on insurance approval.

VSG on 03/02/15

Thank you to all who gave me advice on the RNY and the VSG. I really appreciate the comments and stories shared with me. I did a lot of reading on both surgeries and I have decided to go with the RNY. I want to relieve my acid-reflux and avoid becoming a diabetic as well as lower my cholesterol and BP. I know both surgeries can accomplish these goals, but the RNY seems to be the fit I need. After more study I am confident this is the right choice. Now the hard part starts, waiting for insurance approval and getting a surgery date!

Congratulations on your decision. You did your research on both and came to the decision that is right for YOU. Both RNY and VSG are good procedures so the decision really comes to the individual person so I you!

I've had both. Revised to RNY four years after sleeve. Good for you for doing your own research and doing what best fits you. I'm sure you will do great! Good luck on the approval and hoping for a quick surgery date for you!
