What is your ferritin level?  Low iron levels can cause that symptom.   Your red blood cells carry oxygen from your lungs to the rest of your body. Hemoglobin is the protein in red blood cells that allows them to carry oxygen. Your body needs iron in order to make hemoglobin.  If your iron levels drop and you have low hemoglobin, you get shortness of breath

Rocky513 that is why I LOVE this fourm! That never occured to me and ding, ding, ding my last labs had my Ferritin at 28 Standard Range 6-170 ng/ml. My Iron level was 102 and the standard range is 35-155ug/dl. Those were my values at my six month check up in February. My surgeon has me taking extra iron to bring up my values and I won't get new labs until July.

Good call out. I called my doctors office and I am waiting for a call back. It is not problomatic at this point just has me more curioius.

Thanks for the reply!

Just wondering how you're feeling now. Did it turn out to be iron or anxiety?

Thanks so much for asking, I had every intention of coming back in and updating and got busy. Asthma! My doctor thinks that I have asthma and gave me a steroid treatment in the office and wrote me a prescription for an inhaler! Go figure. I have NEVER had asthma before, but so far no gasp! Who would have thought.

Wowie! Yes, who'da thunk it? I was dx with asthma at 13, but I believe that's actually when my apnea began...I grew really fast and think my lungs couldn't keep up. Have you ever gone for a sleep study? Or maybe you're allergic to something new? I'm glad the inhaler is helping :)
