I am finding that food simply does not taste as good as it did before. Has this happened to others?

Yup!!!!   Just after surgery I especially couldn't stand the taste of anything with artificial sweetener

My tastes were different for the first few months, then they went back to normal.

I hope things go back to somewhat normal. Even though I eat such small meals I would like to enjoy them

My tastes changed right after surgery,  but they are back to normal now.  I even had issues with protein drinks, but can drink them again.

I am about 13 weeks out. My taste buds are not back to normal yet. I can not stand the smell of certain items cooking right now either.

My taste buds did a 180, used to love chocolate anything, now it has a weird aftertaste. I cannot stand the smell of anything being fried now, my daughter in law was frying pork chops for my son the other day and I thought I would lose my dinner any minute, I had to leave the house. I sure hope that changes after while.

I am 9 3/4 months out from surgery and pretty much EVERYTHING tastes different to me!  Things that I LOVED before surgery, some I cant stand all together now and some just taste "off" to me.  So you are not alone :)

I am convinced I had surgery on my taste buds at the same time as my RNY.

Mine have not recovered so I was having to figure out what I like and what I don't.

used to be a chocoholic, now I really don't like the taste of chocolate.. very odd
