Hi there,

Has anyone heard of Miracle noodle before,  if so, have you tried it and is it useful in our diet?

My cousin says that it fills you up without putting on weight.  No  carbs, no gluten,  calorie free.

Thanks for your input.

When something has no calories in it I always wonder what it is made from. Chemicals. Like HALA said the zoodles are good.

Their ingredients (from Miracle Noodles website):

The three ingredients of our shirataki noodles are Glucomannan, which is soluble fiber extracted from the root of a Japanese plant called a Konnyaku Imo, water and a calcium additive. This calcium additive is added to the noodles to keep their shape intact. This is a food grade calcium additive known as pickling lime or calcium hydroxide.  The noodles contain no soy, tofu, gluten/casein, legume or gluten.

I don't use them often, but I like them.  You have to rinse them well and dry roast them, and they take on the flavor of whatever you season them with.  Are they pasta?  No.  But they're a pretty decent substitute.

You are very early out.  I wouldn't try to find anything to act as "filler" right now other than protein and veggies....and protein again.

I've tried it, just recently.  I am not a fan.  The texture is weird, like rubbery worms.  I have 6 unopened packages that I can send to someone in they like them.

I prefer the bean noodles by Explore Asian.  They have an organic Black Bean spaghetti, an edamame  fettuccine, and a white bean spaghetti.  They are made from beans and water and have a much better texture than the miracle noodle...at least to me.  I've even used the black bean pasta cut up instead of rice in stuffed peppers, for instance.  Extremely high in protein.

I bought some to try, but I have yet to open them. They do not look appealing at all. Plus, I do not think that they are useful to us at all. The point of having RNY is so that we get full on small amounts of food, so things that fill us up without giving us nutritional value are no longer useful to us. We need to focus on nutrient dense foods. I simply never have enough space in my pouch to eat things that don't have protein, fiber, or healthy fats. If I really want noodles, I eat black bean spaghetti by Explore Asia instead. But it is not something I suggest eating frequently.

I am many years out from trying them. I remember the smell. I remember rinsing them and the smell never went away. I remember trying a bite and feeling like they were going to be stuck in my pouch forever.

They suck. In my opinion.

Your very early out. Just eating your protein and getting your fluids in will be the priority. Good luck.
