Hair loss & Nioxin

My hair is getting unacceptably thin in the front where my bangs would be.

Has anyone used Nioxin? Does it work?

Time is really the only thing that will help. Be patient.

For everyone that says they used a product and it grew back, it was going to grow back anyway, without the product. Save your money.

Grim, so nothing will prevent it either right? I'm not taking anything yet but I had a dream last night that all my hair started falling out lol. 10 years ago when I lost 125 lbs my hair thinned a little bit. I'm hoping this time it will be about the same.

Look up telogen effluvium.

Hair grows in 3 month cycles. You are always losing old hairs, and growing new. Anesthesia and the shock of surgery disrupt those cycles. You lose hair, like always, but don't grow any new during that phase.

It will come back. Many say it comes back thicker than before.

I did use the Nioxin products for about 6 months. My hairdresser recommended them.  There were three different steps to the process.  I feel that it helped some when things were getting thin, but *****ally knows?  I also took (and still do) Hair Skin and Nails gelcaps. I think we notice it thinning more than other people.

I started and continue to use Nioxin Level One because I like how it lathers, smells, tingles on the scalp, and makes my hair look.  If you watch JCPenney, it goes on sale fairly often.  For example, a couple of weeks ago, the 3-bottle kit was $18.00.  A hairdresser told me for anybody on a tight budget, the conditioner is the bottle to buy.  I have no idea if it works agreeing with Grim hair does grow back.  Doing nothing or trying something are your options.  The trying option seems more fun.

If you do a search, you will see WLSers have tried Biotin (Vitamin B7) for faster hair regrowth.  The fear of potential, excessive facial hair cancelled my interest in Biotin.

My hair falls out like crazy on my head, but I'm still visiting my wax salon every 4 weeks like clockwork.  WHHHHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY??!?!??!??!?

Body hair is different than head hair. Ask any middle aged man with a bald head and a back that looks like a grizzly bear.

Those who take a lot of biotin don't get new head hair. But they get a nice shiny coat of hair on arms, legs and face.
