Mine was covered 80/20 once my deductible was met. I do not think that I can help you too much. I had BCBS Anthem at the time. Hopefully other ppl have better insurance as my deductible is very high. Good Luck

You're likely not going to get much help as as far as I know insurance plans as of yet dint cross state lines. Whatever you do do it quick as congress/Trump have been trying their hardest to repeal the AHCA where as of now your pre-existing condition (obesity) is covered.

My fairly decent employer based Aetna plan still set me back about $2,000 with hospital stay co-pays and all the pre-op appointments they required. Good luck.

Bariatric Surgery is not covered under ACA plans, except in states where it is a mandated benefit.

I have insurance through my husbands job. We have Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. Before I met my deductible it would have covered 80%. I met my out of pocket deductible and they paid 100%. I also believe it goes by the policy you choose.

How are we to give you suggestions with no details of your plan options? Healthcare is not universal- it's very much unique to each employer (assuming it's emplyer based insurance).

There are eleventy billion plans out there. Blue Cross, for instance, has plans that cover it, and those that do not. It all depends on what options an individual or employer chooses to pay for.

Medicare is awful in Louisiana. To my knowledge, there is only one surgeon in the entire state that will do WLS for Medicare.

I would find an insurance agent and ask them to look and help me.

Some of them are good, some - not so much. Your premium should be the same with or without the agent, if you are looking at insurance from the Obamacare plans.

Once they help you select one - I would still call the insurance company myself to confirm that plan really covers the WLS, and what criteria are there to qualify for it.

My experience- everyone is just human and they can make mistakes. Trust and verify to make sure the insurance really covers WLS. Because if it does not - you will be stuck for a year.

In SC - I am not aware of any free market insurance covers WLS. I know it is offered in work - group insurance, but not the Obamacare.
