Can you actually starve to death with rny? I'm sick.

That happened to my friend's sister this year. She was 64. Before her RNY she was very heavy.

She had mental health issues and had divorced her husband and became estranged from her family and friends. She was living in assisted living. They found a mass in her abdomen that was cancer.

After that was removed, she went back to her solitary life. She was on chemo and stopped eating altogether. She died after a few months.

I believe that she should never have been given weight loss surgery due to her mental health issues and lack of any support system.

If you lie and bed and don't eat then eventually you will starve to death.
