Good morning. I have no like button for some of you today. Weird. Successful yesterday on all accounts. Today is all travel. Back to Paso Robles we go. We've got dinner lined up for both nights and an awesome tasting/lunch tomorrow. These travel friends are more slow lane, so it should be a restful 2 days except for the 12 hours of driving involved.

QoTD: Apparently I am not a wish list kind of girl. I pull the trigger or delete.

menu today doesn't go past breakfast and using up leftovers. Though we did get a recommendation for a great place to stop for lunch on the road to wine. Jim and Amy, I'll keep you posted.

B: last of the flank steak with cheese on zero carb tortillas and air fried into mini tacos.

Maybe I can/will walk after we arrive in Paso to stretch out after the long haul. Maybe I'll just have a glass of wine and pretend I'm out on a nice walk. TBD.

Peace Everybody.

QOTD- I found a refrigerator in my Home Depot cart, but deleted it. I do that on Instacart I add things and then I never buy them or decide I don't need them and eventually delete them.

I'm not adjusting well to daylight savings time, yesterday I didn't want to get up at all. It is so dark out in the mornings. Our state tried to vote out DST but it didn't pass and apparently Washington & California have to agree as well. I honestly don't care if it's regular time or DST. Just leave the clock alone! In the summer we have arctic length days, 14+ hours of daylight. When I was a kid it was horrible to try and get me to sleep when it was still light outside. I used to pick berries and we had to be at the bus by about 5AM. Now it's illegal to have kids pick berries. Unfortunately there are not as many berry farms as there used to be. It's mostly now suburbia, and there is a Community College where the fields used to be. I saved that money and bought my first horse.

It's almost 8 and it's still not very light out, cloudy and overcast. When I moved to Maui I stayed on West Coast time, even though it was 2 hours earlier in the winter and 3 in the summer. It was easier just to ignore the clock and keep the same hours of work. I guess I really don't like change. I'm not in a good place right now, nothing seems to appeal to me. It's hard for me to get out of the house, I just am hiding out from the world. I want to retire in the worst way, but financially I don't see any way to do it, unless I can refi my house at a lower rate. I didn't think I would be here at this point in my life. I was sure I could actually retire, but it just isn't possible.

Sorry for the doom and gloom, I need to just snap out of it.

Have a great day everyone!

Can you 10 minute rule yourself and see if that helps? I do that sometimes when I don't want to exercise - I will do it for 10 minutes and if I still don't want to after that, then I can stop. Usually I keep going but not always. Maybe that will help you get out - I will walk 10 minutes and then go home (or I guess 5 minutes because then it's 5 minutes back). I started using it on myself when I was a kid and unhappy a lot -- I would fake being happy "until recess"'or "until I got off the bus" and I learned that sometimes I can trick myself. It never works when I try "I will fake I am sleeping until a normal hour" though.

Mornin' All!

I could barely get up this morning - I think the time change has finally hit me (I don't think it usually does since I don't have to work anymore, but that's the only explanation I can come up with). I have nothing on my schedule today, but I want to try to get caught up on classes and (I guess...) work on my state income taxes. It'll be in the mid-60s F today, so I also need to get out. Unfortunately it's borderline too windy for biking, so I may have to walk even though I'd rather do something else since I've done a lot of walking lately. However, with it being this nice outside...

QOTD: the only site I keep a wishlist on is Amazon, but it's been so long I had to check. I have some iron tablets in there (from 2017!), and a few things from 2021 - biking pants, a portable bike tire pump, and vitamin B-complex tablets. I already have all this stuff (other than a portable bike tire pump - but we do have a couple of the standard ones in our garage), so I can probably delete the list!

coffee with half & half

plain skyr with fruit

Danish rye bread with butter and lingonberry preserves

bagged salad

asparagus soup

protein shake

1/2 a fake chicken burger on 1/2 a bun

have a great day, everyone!

If I ever see bike pants in a wishlist, I'll know the wishlist isn't mine.

G'morning all!

Back in CA again.

I gotta say I finally understand you cat people and your morning routines. My daughter's cat rules the rooster. When I saw him at our house he was shy and afraid of Luna. But at DD's apartment he is the king. He wakes her up with his mewing and demanding food. He has one of those automatic feeders that feeds him 4 times a day and then he gets a tiny can of wet food. That wet food is the highlight of his day. The first morning I was up before DD and he was mewing at me like "stupid hooman, don't you know what to do? You have thumbs, open can!" On the last day I took over and let DD sleep in. Poor Luna waits patiently till I'm up at whatever time I get up to feed her. Luna is more demanding for her walks and gives you the look, but never barking like she owns the house. In short, I salute you cat people being your pets' butlers.

QOTD: I have an Amazon wish list. Sometimes I see something I like but don't think I should jump on it so goes into wish list until I can decide rationally. I also have a long to read books that I get one at a time.

My meals yesterday (on the road):

  • Coffee
  • Beef jerky, epic chicken
  • Airline pretzels, airline brownie brittle
  • Barebells bar
  • E: nope

Happy taco Tuesday!
