The scale and I don't really have a close relationship anymore, more of a "hey that was a huge poop, lemme jump on!" lol

Topic: RE: "The easy way out"
Don't throw tomatos at me - but because I didn't/don't really have any major complications, I feel like this IS the easy way for me. No, really.
Though in all honesty this is the ONLY place I have heard anyone actually say that, no ones said it in "real life"
My dad has lost 60 lbs on his own with diet and minimal exercise after YEARS of being MO, and is looking fabulous and I have to stay his struggle is MUCH harder than mine. And his maintenance will be much harder too I think.
BUT - I am glad that this 56 year old, 6'5 300+lb italian guy has done SO much to change his eating habits. He really is relearning how to eat - which is OUR biggest challenge as well. Because he WAS considering lapband -and I gotta tell you, I'd have gotten a court order declaring him insane if he actually tried to go through with it. RNY or DS maybe, lapband? NFW. Not with the way he ate and his lifestyle..ugh!

Well, hate to say, but some of these pre-ops have done a hell of alot more homework than some of the people I see post-op 6 months out.
And kudos to you guys *****search and want to know what's being done to your body and how YOU can make the most of it.

So I'm in the midst of packing up my house.
Last night I was packing up my desk area (which is also where I do my makeup ritual etc).
I left my bag o' cotton balls on the floor for some reason (with a few other items that need to stay unpacked for the moment).
Apparently my dog wanted to show me his appreciation for my daily beauty rituals.... and peed on them.
So not looking, I stuck my hand in the bag.... EUUUUUGH.
Sigh.

noooooooo anti bacterial cream.. see your doc first. its likely a yeast infection. yep..yeast.
lotrimin works on it, and to keep it gone, use anti persperant - but antibacterial creams and anything containing cornstarch (like most powders) will FEED it.

Once the therapist helps you realize that its her problem and not yours - tell her she's toxic to her face and to shut up or **** off.

OK so lets seeeee...
1) House Stuff
As some of you know my landlord lady is a moe-ron and has basically now given her house back to the bank. The A/C broke about 7 weeks ago now - she won't fix it. She didn't have my security dep to give back, so I didn't pay rent this month (her suggestion), but I am still considering tearing her a new ass over the A/C - the heat and humidity are killing us with crabbyness and my son's migraines.
HOWEVER - we have found a house to rent, in the area we wanted, with lease to own possibilities (after a few months of trial). Its slightly less rent than this heap and several hundred sq feet larger. The area schools are larger, have a better selection of courses, and offer college dual credits and things of that nature. The landlord is also waving the pet fees. So the only bad thing is that we will have to put up a better fence for our mutts, but eh..who cares.
We probably won't be doing the lease to own because we also found some owner financed land we can afford with a good enough downpayment and will be working towards purchasing that in August when our pell grant money shows up....because...
2) The Man
I convinced the grumpy old man that there is no reason for him NOT to go back to school right now. He makes so little money, Uncle Sam and his cousin pell will pay for him to go, with plenty leftover if he does the community college for the first two years. SO we got him enrolled for a college transfer AAS, pending his assessment tests... I think it will greatly help his depression "i am not worthy" issues. He's hoping to move into forestry or environmental science.
3) The kiddos
My 10 and 13 y/o are thriving on their new ADD meds - the 10 y/o got her first achievement award and my son (13) made the A/B Honor roll for the first time ever... wOOhooo!
My 15 year old - ugh, long story here, won't get into her "bidness" except to say I made a disturbing discovery the other day that has resulted in an appointment to get her on depo shots....
4) The Job
I am SO overwhelmed its not even funny, people just keep piling it on. I had last week off and did things *I* needed to do, started packing, cleaning, running errands, etc - and now that I am back (and my effexor has kicked in) I see some clarity... I will do what I can, I always go above and beyond, but at some point the demands are inhumane, and I won't even attempt to breach that point anymore. I am NOT a super hero.
Having said that it looks like we will once again be hitting the road to visit each regional group, I just hope I don't have to travel with my boss for the entire she-bang, because her workload is just as bad as mine and she can't handle travelling AND the day to day - and I pay for it. She's never ever mean to me, don't get me wrong, but she gets so totally frazzled and I end up "cleaning up her mess" - especially when she finally decides to blow off steam, gets ****faced and insists she's ok to drive (OH HELL TO THE NO).
5) The money
Well... We're ok for now, but we had to pay a doulbe deposit on the house due to credit and we will have to pay electric and water deposits again, etc etc. I am not sure how we will pull it off, but I am working on it. Tryin not to let it get to me.
6) The rag issues
I finally got the mirena IUD today to hopefully alleviate all my PMS/DMS/POSTMS craptasticness without the BC pills of DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM. (DOOOOOOM because I turn into a murderous, raging, *****not exxagerating at all). BTW... OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH OUCH CRAMPS FROM ******G HELL.
7) RNY and Stress
I have been eating like complete crap.. no really. Drinking coffee almost exclusively, bagels, fried junk, fruit snacks (to replace a deadly gummy bear habit) etc... I haven't gained an ounce. Actually I've lost 2 lbs again (but am still safely above 160). Scary considering my eats. However - Since I have not had time to gym as much as normal I am losing muscle tone, especially in my abs, and I can feel it in my clothes. Despite what the scale says I am in danger of moving back up a size. Tomorrow I go back to the office and back to my routine, even if it kills me because...

8) Probably the most important to me right now - I am signing up to do the Breast Cancer 3 day walk in Atlanta.
(Gotta find the registration money first....hard with moving). I mentioned this to my HR dept to see if we have a team, and somehow I ended up being the team leader....soooooo yeah, its all on me. Great. lol So I am kicking around fund raising ideas, etc and trying to figure transportation/lodging, all the while I have not even registered yet cause I am too broke LOL Gotta love it. Once I scrape that moola together I will have an official donation page on the 3 day site if anyone wants to show support, not sure if I am allowed to put it in my signature... i will ask.
I got a new dress (for $1.50 loooool) that is begging for photos, so as soon as I figure out where my memory card to my camera went I will get that handled.
I miss ya'll and love ya too! I do read here just don't always post :)

Topic: RE: I got called fat multiple times to my face last week...
AlisaBe careful with this - many states (california and florida to name a couple) are "all party" states - meaning everyone has to be informed of the recording.
On May 11, 2009 at 10:58 AM Pacific Time, Alisa K. wrote:
My lawyer gave me the best advise ever a few years ago when i was in your shoes. Anytime I had to talk to my ex husband or his wife to always have a small recorder on me. I bought one at walmast for about 50 bucks and I would stick it in the back of my pants when I had to go pick my kids up from his house. When he would call, i would have it in hand with him on speaker so that it got it all. This was used in court by my lawyer to prove harassment. As long as one of the ppl being recorded knows, then it is admissible. So you dint even have to tell him about it. If anything, this protects you! Another thing was to keep a camera on hand too. That way when I went to pick them up if I saw anything out of place i could photo it for proof. My ex was a real fighter and in the end was beating his new wife. My son kept telling me and finally I had pictures to prove it. Good luck!Alisa

Topic: RE: Monday Rant - GRRRR!!
Our neighbors have 2 great danes (and 2392892 hunting beagles stuffed in a tiny pen but thats another rant)...
They have an 'invisible fence' - two days ago the girl danes battery on her collar ran out and she got in my trash. I had bagged up and thrown away a bigass box of packing peanuts.....
My kids spent an hour yesterday picking most of them up out of the yard....
Despite the fact that I went over and told neighborman about the collar, dog and getting in my trash - she was in it again last night. My yard looks like it has snowed. Peanuts and trash EVERYWHERE.
Grrr
HE will be cleaning it up this time.

and like Jilly - I had boobs until the last 30 lbs or so
And unlike Shari - my insurance company didnt care what the excess was made of, just that it met a volume requirement of some sort (differs by insurance co) OR that you have/had rashes, backpain etc etc OR that you were severly asymmetrical.
They'd have covered any of that - but lucky me the day i went to the PS i had one hell of a raging summer ick rash :)
