I have been taking a sublingual B12 every morning, but my Nut told me to only take it once a week. But the bottle says daily...I felt fine taking it daily does anyone take B12 daily?

I took it daily until my bloodwork said it was a little high. now I take it every other day. =) At least that is not the reason my feet burn. =)

I was taking it every day until my labs revealed almost double the high normal. I was instructed to cut back to 3-4 times weekly. Really, it's one of those vitamins that needs to be monitored before you go off and change dosing. It's the most common deficiency in gastrectomy patients so it's not something to play with. I'd recommend getting your labs pulled, and then discuss with your doctor on a dosing that will work for your needs.

I bought B12 and mistakenly got 5000 mg instead of 1000. My B12 was high.....so they told me to take it once a week. Is yours more than 1000 mg?

Hi. I take my Vitamin B-12 at 500 mcg every day. When I have my blood work done, it always come out good on the Vitamin B-12 at 500 mcg. I am happy about that. I take the B-12 one time a day in the evenings every day of the week. My dietitian told me to take B-12 at 500 mcg once a day in the evening. And it's going good.

First of all, I would do whatever your nut recommends. I'm assuming she has access to your labs and would know how much and how often you should take it.  I was told to take 500mcg daily, but I was already on 2500mcg SL preop so mine told me to keep taking that.  They do repeat labs so if and when I need to change it, I will.  Good luck!!

As a preop, I was found to be very deficieint in b12 and had to go for weekly injections.  Once I got my levels up, I started with a daily sublingual.  I just increased the amount as I've noticed symptoms of my deficiency coming back (numbness and tingling in hands)...I'll have my labs tested again next month (first time since surgery).  My nut did tell me that some people may have to keep up with the injections and that I may, eventually, be one of them.

The most important thing to remember.  Every BODY is different.
