is fructose a good sugar substitute after vsg?
because it is considered good for diabetics.
and are we allowed to have sugar free ,sucrose and splenda ?
how long after the surgery is it safe to start these?

calorie wise fructose is the same as sugar, but is nutritionally fine, it is real sugar though. It's just fruit sugar.

Fructose is the same as regular cane sugar. Post-op you may experience discomfort if you take in a lot of real sugar at one sitting.

We are allowed sugar-free foods like sf popsicles and jell-o and sugar substitures like Equal.

I was having sf popsicles 3 days post-op and have continued to have sf items and Equal ever since with no adverse reaction.
