My mom is coming for a visit this weekend from out of town, and she is planning to make a huge pot of home made soup for my husband. (mom's soup is always better than mine lol   Is it too soon for me to have some? I was told by my surgeon on last visit 6/5/11 NO CORN. I told my mom this and she told me to pick it out.  So any suggestions or should I just skip it all together.

So could you pick the corn out then put the soup thru a blender or food processor?

Just a thought?

If your surgeon said no corn, unless your mom can make the soup without the corn it would be better to diplomatically skip it.

If you don't want to puree the soup, just eat the broth and the softer bits. Homemade soup would be wonderful for your stomach.

Put your share through a strainer, then pick the corn out of the solids. I'm copying your post and showing it to a friend on another (non-wls) forum, whose mother wouldn't do an 'all natural' menu while she was visiting. All I can say is, our Moms are getting older, and will do things their way, no matter what!
