Going For EGD Tomorrow

I am going on my sixth month and every time I eat it hurts. My weight loss has been slow because of this. Everytime I take a bite it's like a shock wave like pain that touches my stomach. I am hoping they can figure this out so I can get back to losing weight.

Well then its good you are having a EDG completed. The doc will SEE what and where the problem may be. I had to have my esophagus dilated 2 x and it really helped my swallowing problem..painless..and immediate relief.

What's an EGD? I've been having pain after eating the last two days, wondering if I should contact doctor..

And EGD is that test where a trained doc, mine was a gastroentologist, puts a scope down your throat to look at throat, esophagus and stomach. It does not hurt cuz you are in "twilight" sleep. I was given VERSED, (which I love) which is a pain relieve and gives you amnesia during procedure and fetanyl also for pain. These meds are used for colonoscopy too.

The meds are short acting so you "wake up" rather quickly.
No pain or discomfort. But someone has to drive you home.
