So I attempted to make something different other than a chocolate protein drink.

Since I am on full liquids for the next well forever......

I took a can of cream of mushroom soup.  I spooned at half the can and mixed in some soy milk.  Oops! forgot it was vanillia flovered...in the tra**** went.

Ok not being a quitter...I took the other half of the can of soup and this time mixed it with 2% milk.
So thinking I need MORE PROTEIN so in goes 2 tablespoons of unflavored soy protein.  Place the mix in the blender to remove lumps.  It looked good.  It smelled ok.  I heated in the mircowave for like 2 minutes.

After placing it in a smaller bowl, I go to sit in my flavor chair and watch Food Porn (food network)
I took one bite and decided that it was wallpaper paste....

Help I have such a long time on full liquids (two weeks) I need help with different types of things to eat.

LOL... And I thought, I'm NEVER that bored. That's what the computer is for!

I discovered a ready-to-eat tomato soup that was out of this world. Also a cheddar soup that's not bad. Soup soup soup...

If you heated it much past warmish, the protein powder clumps!

Next time (if you want to open another can!) mix your soup & milk, heat- take the temp, and make sure it's below 130 deg.. then mix in the powder.. I *think* from exp that Nectar unflavored seems to tolerate a little higher temp, but that 130 deg is from the Unjury unflavored stuff I had..

Not sure how soy protein reacts to heat as I've always used whey.. try an experiment and add a tsp to some ho****er and see if it does clump.. most proteins do when heated.

Hey there sleeve twin, I feel your pain!  Here's some of what I've had/done...

1.  I bought some different flavored broths (College Inn's Thai Coconut Curry is my favorite and not too spicy) and I stir in an entire scoop of unflavored whey protein from GNC to 1 cup of broth while I heat on the stove over medium heat.  I stir constantly, being careful not to heat it too far beyond warm.  This helps with the clumping issue tremendously.  I do this to any soup that I heat up.  Also, be careful when you re-heat (cold soup is gross to me), because it will thicken and clump if you overheat.  If that happens, I add a little more broth/liquid and put the soup in the blender/food processor.

2.  Greek yogurt is awesome.  I've been craving savory over sweet (Hallelujah!) and will mix things into my Greek yogurt like a teaspoon or so of strained Lipton Onion Soup Mix (no clumps) or powdered dressing mix (like Ranch).  Yes, I'm basically eating dip/dressing, but 18 grams of protein for Fage's 0% 6 oz cup makes for two good "meals" IMHO!  You could also go the sweet route and mix in some pumpkin pie seasoning and a packet of Splenda/Truvia/Equal/whatever.

3.  Costco carries a ready-made Tomato Basil Bisque Soup from Campbells's that's really yummy.  I strain out the chunks of tomato and add a scoop of unflavored whey protein (see #1).  Yum!

4.  Sugar free, fat free instant jello pudding mix can be mixed with protein powder and made into ice cream or pudding.  Check out eggface for inspiration:  http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/

5.  Premier protein shakes (Costco carries them) are a God-send.  They're thin and 30 grams of protein for 11 oz.  I spend most mornings sipping on one.  Muscle Milk Light protein shakes are good too at 20 grams of protien for around 8.25 oz.

6.  My NUT said a protein scoop added to weight control oatmeal, grits (I love the cheddar cheese flavored one), or cream of wheat is acceptable as well.  I'm sorta conflicted about the carbs early on even with the added protein and I'm probably going to eliminate them from my diet this week when I move to soft foods, but they do add variety especially if you're doc is keeping you on full liquids for a while.  Oh, yeah, I usally up the liquid quantity to make up for the added protein.  LIke, I'll mix in a cup of skim milk (which has more protein than almond milk surprisingly) to my protein-infused oatmeal instead of 3/4 of a cup.

Good luck!
