anyone use citrucel or metamucil?
It doesnt bother me any.
I am not sure about the two your mentioning.
People who are not use to fiber get gasy. You have to start slow, then your body
may get use to it. If it doesnt then obviously stop. How far out are you?

Have you tried ground flax? You can mix 1/4c flax with water (1/4-1/2C), and cook/sweeten like oatmeal (microwave 1-2 mins). It's got lots of fiber, and I used it at a pre-op during atkins diet to relieve constipation... but haven't tried as a post-op. My husband also swears by Chia seeds, which are high in omega 3's, fiber, antioxidants... another super food. LOL.
It dissolves clear, has no odor or taste, and isn't bulk-forming. Just adds to the overall fiber content in your diet.
I don't measure, just dump a big old pour of the powder into my liter water bottles when I make them up with water and lemon... and I forget that it's even in there.
If you're going to use a bulking agent type of supplement, I'd say don't do a normal sized dose at once, since your stomach is NOT normal sized. Do maybe 1/5 of the dose, wait half an hour, then do another 1/5, etc. Because your little tummy can't handle that sort of volume. Let us know if you find something that works though!
