I'm having surgery in 2 days and I have a office job. I am free to get up and move around but mostly i sit at a desk. My surgeon said I should be able to go back in one and a half weeks but I've heard different things. What are some of your thoughts?

my surgeon says that I can go back to my job as a nurse with heavy lifting in two weeks so I would think 1 1/2 would be good for an office job

Well, I was laid off a few months ago and am not currently working, but I rode my Harley just ten days after surgery. Does that help?

I was kind of sick after surgery so it was a little harder for me and I went back after two and a half weeks.  If it weren't for me getting sick, I would have been able to go back soon.

I have an office job too.  I had surgery on a Monday and didn't work that week, of course.  Worked from home the following week, and went back to the office the week after that, no problem.

I took 2 weeks off, but I definitely could have gone back earlier.  A week might have been a little soon, but by day 9 I was pretty good to go.  I cleaned out my closet and did lots of laundry.  It was lovely to have the time off, but not necessary.  You might need to get up and down a fair bit - I couldn't hunch over my computer for too long without stretching out my abs.  The position was hard on my incisions.

Hi, so I'm a 911 Dispatcher and sit at a consel all day long.  I had my surgery on a Tuesday and was back to work the following Sunday.   I had no problems or issues.  Good Luck!

I had some complications but I was still able to go back about 9 days after.

My energy level has been down since my surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago.  I have gone back to work on an abbreviated schedule, but I hope to be back to full time by the end of this week.  Every one handles anesthesia and the surgery/recovery differently, and while I'm not in pain, I get exhausted after 5 hours at my desk.  I take a short nap and then I'm okay, but since I can't work from home, I try to use the rest of my time walking and getting through some household stuff.
