No Longer the 300+ lb woman!

This past week, I made my first major goal which was to be under 300lbs by my son's birthday which is 10/5.
I started at 364 when I went in for surgery. My heightest weight ever (in college) was 406. I've been 300+ lbs my entire adult life. I haven't had a 2 as the first number since high school.
I cried when I got off the scale.
I wish I'd done this sooner!!
I'm literally 107.3 lbs lighter than I was in college and I have my 10th reunion coming up in the spring.

The downside? I was a size 30 in college, a size 26 at surgery, and now a size 24 (on the bottom). Im extremely bottom-heavy and tall, so even though I can see some changes, I'm still pretty big. Up top I went from a 24 to an 18, a 42D to a 38C. That's well fine and good, but my lower body isnt catching up. I'm going to keep at it though. My surgeon said he think I might have lypodystrophy.

So I keep swimming, keep running in the pool, keep ellipticalling, walking, and lifting weights. Focus on eating right and getting my metabolism going. I'm still in the 700 calorie range. We'll see if I can make 100lbs in 6 months :)

Thank you! I feel so inspired. I only had one stall and that was at 3 weeks. Since then, I've been losing consistently. It feels really good.

I know what it's like to get out of the 300s. I think we had a similar starting point with the surgery. It's a big accomplishment.  Now I'm obsessing over getting below 250. Then I will be closer to 200 than 300.

Congrats!

BTW, my arms are freakishly big.  -majorly disproportionate. A few family members have it.  I have stood next to women much bigger- twice as big- who did not have my arms. My arms look like slabs of ham hocks- they are not round.  Seriously.  I saw a picture of me from the side, and I zeroed in on my huge arms.  They determine my shirt size- not my breast, not my stomach.

So how do I deal with this as I loose weight and my arms look even bigger when compared to my body?  Next year, I'm cutting them off- the extra skin and fat.  Sucks because I am still paying a hefty credit card bill for this surgery because I am self-pay. I'm applying for a higher paying job and letting my employer know that I need a signifcant raise to stay.

At some point, I will probably resort to some garment to try to tame them.

In the meantime, I'm focused on my health and fitness. I was 300+ lbs for a decade. I will except my arms for another year- 2 at the most.

Thank you everyone! This was a big milestone for me. Made me feel soooo good. I haven't gone back over 300 either. 200s are here to stay until I see a 1 first lol
