What to eat during the puree stage. How did you handle it?
Hey VSGers...
I am still a little ways a way from Pureed but I had a question. And it is a very very simple question.
Ok so, the puree stage has a lot of dips and smooth foods that generally are eaten with crackers or pita bread etc. How do you eat it? Do you just eat it with a spoon or do you use it with something (some type of accompaniment)?
How and what did you eat during your puree stage?
This may come across as a strange question but I was just thinking about it and figured I would ask.
Thanks VSGers.

My pureed stage did not have dips included, just blenderized very moist meat, cottage cheeae, greek yogurt, ff refried beans, soups blenderized, blenderized eggs. I jusy ate tiny bites and got full by about 2 oz. You won't have room for carby bread or crackers, plus think what that would do to a healing sleeve. Remember the protein firsr, then veg and fruit then carb rule.
I agree with with what newsusan said. Skip the crackers and bread. You won't have room for much and I would stick to protein protein protein where possible. I ate my pureed foods with a spoon. I took tiny bites and couldn't eat much before I felt full. You should mix in enough liquid so that after it's pureed/blenderized, it has the consistency of applesauce and slides off a spoon. You can also add protein powder to purees to increase the protein content.
egg salad
chicken salad (use canned chicken since it's softer)
tuna salad
greek yogurt
cottage cheese
ricotta cheese
ff refried beans with a little melted cheese on top
sf pudding with protein powder added
sf applesauce with protien powder added
cream soups (the ones higher in protein and lower in carbs) with protein powder added
