I was just thinking...I haven't seen anyone talk about this but when you are in those firth few stages of mushies can you maybe eat baby food?  I mean some of the baby food out there is good.  I remember feeding my  son when he was a baby and tasting some of the stuff saying...humm this isn't so bad.  So I was seeing if anyone else did that.

I tried baby foods during mushies, and just couldn't handle the taste (or really lack of taste.)  Maybe I picked the wrong ones?  I know that my surgeon said that they were okay to use at the very beginning of transitioning from liquids to mushies, but to not overly rely on them since they can be pretty close to a liquid form.

I bought a bunch of jars of baby food....never ate one....I couldn't bring myself to eat them and it just wasn't necessary..plus most are so low on protein anyway and pretty high in sugars....

Baby food is THE nastiest thing I have ever eaten. To answer your question, my surgeon allowed baby food during the mushie stage.

if it works for you, thats great, it is a mushy.

but there really is no real need to resort to baby food, there are plenty of other options out there and its probably better to chop up some regular meat concotions, higher protein.

but to each their own!

I just had my surgery on Thursday and am doing the mushies now. I bought some baby food vegetables, but haven't tried any of them yet. My nut says baby food is OK, but if you're going to get baby food for your protein, they have to be high in protein.
