Mornings are tough for me too.

I've learned to drink something slowly then in about an hour, eat.

It seems to prepare the stomach for me.
It's getting better now.

It's my easiest meal....protein shake every morning!  I add ice, splenda and instant coffee to a RTD shake. Quick, easy and I actually enjoy them!  It takes me an hour to drink but gives me the ooomph I need in the AM!

Just goes to show how different we all are.. I would rather have breakfast, lunch and dinner all at breakfast! If I eat a good breakfast now (pre op!) I can easily go all day long without anything else and I don't feel hunger or deprivation or anything. All my favourite foods and comfort foods are all breakfast foods...

I have to have something warm first to make breakfast "doable" for me.  I usually have half a cup of coffee (allowed on my plan) and take my AM vitamins and supplements with it.  Then about an hour later, Sleevie McGavin is ready for an egg and some day an egg and a piece of turkey sausage.

I'm 3 months out and have the same problem. I don't know why but it's weird. I drink my protein drink in the morning. I use nectar and mix it with water. I don't think I could have one made with milk (too heavy). And then I have a snack mid morning to replace breakfast (maybe yogurt or a cracker w/ peanut butter).

Do not ask God to guide your footsteps if you're not willing to move your feet.

That's why I have a protein coffee in the am.  I get 28g of protein, drink it in a nice hot drink, and I can just continue drinking (getting fluids in****il lunch time.  By lunch, I'm ready for food.

You mix up a scoop of your favorite protein powder - I'm using Optimum Nutrition Cake Batter or Caramel Toffee Fudge.  You can mix it using either water or milk, just make sure it's room temp or cooler.  I only use around 2-3oz of water/milk - just enough to make sure it's all dissolved - but you can use as much as you want!  Then you pour and stir it into your cup of coffee like a flavored creamer.  It's already sweetened from the protein powder and the coffee seems to cut down on the whey aftertaste.  I actually look forward to it in the morning!

Do NOT try to dissolve the protein powder directly into the coffee.  It clumps if you put it directly into a hot beverage.

One scoop is 24g of protein.  With a few ounces of milk, add some more grams of protein.   And you're done.
