Hi! Earlier this week I posted that I was thinking about using a protein bar as my pre-workout snack. I should mention that I have lunch around 11/11:30, and usually work out around 4. This pre-workout snack is at my normal snack time of 3/3:20.

Bar used: Pure Protein chocolate and peanut butter. 20 gramps protein, 16 carbs, 200 caloris.
Effects:
- As I'm eating the bar, I notice that I don't get the "full" feeling that I get from snacks like soy nuts or beef jerky. It's not that I'm still hungry after eating it... I just don't feel "full".
- The bar keeps me "not hungry" as long as my other snacks do
- I feel like I have good energy during my workout. I have used the bar before running and before spinning. I can be at the gym for 1.5 hours (ie, run for 3 miles then do yoga) and not feel run down at the end.
- I could eat the entire bar, even though it looks big.
- I will not eat the bars any other time of the day, since they "do down too easy"
- I need less fiber chewables now. This bar seems to aid in the #2 department.
- The bars taste is pretty good.
- My weight has not platued due to the bars (at least not yet). I have lost 1.5 lbs since starting the bars on Monday.
