I know it is a struggle ingesting water.
2 days ago I noticed  I was getting my 64 oz of water in with ease. I consciously increased my water to 80 oz a day. I have lost 4 pounds in the past 2 days.
I do not add anything to my water. I do not include any other liquids in my water total. Water is great in flushing everything out of your system. If your sleeve let's you, push the plain old water through your system!
I know my ticker won't update until later in the day, I am 108.6 pounds to goal. So much better than 172 pounds to goal!

Awesome -- water is a struggle for me.  I like plain water but if I sip, sip, sip then I feel like my sleeve is drowning.   Can't explain the feeling but when I concentrate on getting down some water - it starts to feel wierd.   Water is one of my main goals because I know I only about about 1/2 of what I need each day.   Thanks for the encouragement.  I will keep up the fight to get the water in!

I have developed a water strategy that is driving my wife crazy. I fill up a glass with 16 ounces of water and take a big drink and kind of hold it in my mouth and swallow little bits until its gone. I can't tolerate cold water and this kind of warms it up and also gives my stomach time to let the water empty to allow room for more. I kind of look like a chipmunk doing it, but it works and allows me to get all my water in. 64 ounces is enough for me. Any more and I would feel I was drowning.

I just advanced my diet to pureed foods. When I am on dense protein I may not be able to drink as much water. I know with a high protein die****er is key in weight loss. Go to the atkins website for more information. I drink my water at room temp also.
I know everyone is different and I have found something that works for me.

I am Pre-op and I LOVE plain water!.....But I am afraid I am going to have trouble NOT gulping it down! It's good to know that it will help take the weight off though..... cause it's not helping now! lol

Your stomach stops you from the gulping.  At least, mine has.  I loved to gulp drinks to quench my thirst, but if I try to now, after surgery, it feels like I'm pouring something in a pitcher too quickly and it sits there and makes me slow down.  Will feel painful, and since I don't like pain,
I drink slowly!   Good luck to you!
